Turbines to Turbo at LIMA 2023

Langkawi (Malaysia) – 24 May 2023: Global Turbine Asia Sdn Bhd’s (GTA) quest to become the local champion in the global aerospace industry took a significant step forward today with the official signing of a Letter of Agreement (LOA) with Europrop International (EPI). The agreement inked at LIMA 2023 consolidates the expansion of GTA capabilities into the fixed wing military aircraft space, providing support for the 19 units of TP400-D6 engines being used by the Royal Malaysian Airforce (RMAF). GTA will serve as the Authorised Maintenance Organisation for Europrop International (EPI), the original equipment manufacturer of the TP400-D6 engine used in the A400M Atlas airlifter. The agreement marks a major milestone in the industry as this collaboration constitutes the first and only time EPI relies on a foreign third party to carry out maintenance activities on their engine. It allows GTA to perform Level 1 and Level 2 (on base) maintenance on TP400-D6 engines, the highest level attainable outside an OEM workshop. With this signing, GTA takes another step towards becoming a regional centre of excellence for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and further accelerates the nation’s industrial growth. More importantly, this underpin the growing confidence in Malaysia as a major aerospace industry player with GTA proud to champion the cause. GTA’s aspiration is in direct support of the Malaysian Aerospace Blueprint 2030, which contains the shared aspiration of the Malaysian aerospace industry stakeholders towards ensuring continued growth of the industry.” Moving forward, GTA is keen on bringing in more cutting edge innovation and capabilities that will be of tremendous value to customers and stakeholders. As a company with leadership that strives to foster industry growth, GTA looks to also continue accelerating the growth of the MRO and aerospace industry as a whole by creating more avenues with economic spill over through the creation of highly skilled jobs and new career pathways via strategic collaboration and partnerships.
